Almost Fifteen ~ Best Shot Monday

Last week, some of Daryl's relatives came into town from NY. We all got together for lunch then a dip at the hotel pool. Regardless what the rest of us were doing, Irene was entranced by her well-read book....unless she was on her cell phone....the life of a girl at (almost)fifteen.

Are those skeletons on her earrings? What a great picture. I love how you captured only part of her face, because the rest of the shot tells a great story in itself.

The worn book is an awesome touch. And I like how you stepped out of the box and did something different.

Great shot that says it all. Oh, to be that age again and have all the promise of a lifetime waiting for me to write on it's pages . . .

Oh Tanya, this is awesome! I love the crop and processing of this image, but even more I love the feelings it stirs. She's a modern teenage girl...but at the same time it's so timeless.

Love the color, the sentiment and like others have noticed, that she's reading a well-loved book. Great shot!

I did not notice the skeleton earrings until I read Joanna's comment. I love the perspective and I think you captured it perfectly.

I agree, a wonderful photo! We couldn't get our teen to read to save his life!

Lost in her own world. That's 15 for you! I love it. And my daughter would LOVE those earrings!

ahhhh....to be 15 again! We never realize how stress free our lives truly were then did we? Love the processing in this shot...it works perfectly with the ragged book!
