bounce around...or not

Wednesday, O'Mama Donna and her Payton & Ember had a bouncer playdate. Mia wasn't too interested in the bouncer, but loved the water table and someone's goody bag from a pirate themed party that she found.

when Daddy's away...

Daryl has pool every Thursday night, so that makes a loooong day with Mia. Mia and I invited some friends over for company. Mia played and played and played......and went to bed VERY early :)

mia is currently sitting on the potty, unrolling all the toilet paper...waiting for the poo to come out of her bootie (her words). i thought about telling her not to unroll all the tp, but what harm is it causing? she's having fun and on some level, she just may be learning something and it's giving me a little break.

Hindi & Bindi

My darling friend, Anjalika and her sweet Anika hosted a playdate about their Indian culture. Anja let me wear one of her Indian outfits. I felt so pretty, but then she broke out the bindi's!!!! She picked a funky red on for me, and Mia picked one that she called a ladybug. Anja, Andrea, Melissa, Lora and I were all in some form of beautiful Indian attire...oh, Anika, too....and Mia had a little Indian-ish outfit on. All the mamas and kiddos were sporting their bindis!

Anja spent an amazing amount of time, energy and love into cutting out templates of each children's name in Hindi. I'm so glad Andrea got their early, too. She worked like the wind on attaching the velcro to all the pieces. Teamwork :) Here's a pic of Mia's painted name...Mia painted it..that's were the wonderful templates came in ;)

It was such a wonderful, loving and fun atmosphere. Indian music in the back ground, delicious Indian food. All I can say is that I'm ready for the next one!

anticipation is killing me!

my djembe is Out for Delivery!!!!!!!!! Not sure what the hell I'm gonna do with it once I get it....probably bang it around and pretend I'm a Djembabe on stage with the spot light on me....or playing in a subway for the world to hear...or even better....in a drum circle with lovely dancers doing their thang to the beat of my music.

Sunday Fellowship

Sunday I got a text then a call from Bonnie..let's meet up at Waterloo....Josh needs a break, so I NEED to get the kids out of the house! We met up with Andrea & Domi, too. It was hot, the beer was cool, the food oh so yummy and the companionship amazing. I think that I found my kinda church....this is what I call fellowship.

Daryl even picked up my camera and took some shots of me holding Sam...both of us covered in squished avocado.

i just noticed he was taking pictures of me :)

Mia's full morning of Firsts

our loot. notice the empty berry basket...they never do make it home

Daryl had to work again on Sat, so Mia and I hit the road. Destination: Austin Farmer's Market

We briefly ran into Natalie...poor thing got her blackberries at the wrong booth. They were not tasty looking. Mia and I ran into Mel, Greyson and Mel's Mom (I'm THAT good at remembering names). We all hung out around the bandstand and ate up breakfast tacos while listening to some hillbilly music...it was.
Then, I lost Mia for the first time! She and Greyson went up to throw a buck into the tip bucket. I assumed that Mel's Mom had Mia, too. Oops! In the time it took me to wrangle the stroller free from a mess of chairs, she was GONE! Mia runs. She runs fast. I just took off in the direction I thought she'd go...I got to the end of the block. No Mia. I was freaking out. People were just in my way. I saw a cop, touched his arm and said 'I lost my baby' and kept walking. I didn't have time to talk. I heard him behind me when, through the crowd, I saw Mia in Mel's arms. I LOVE Mel!!!!!! I couldn't move. I bent over with my hands on my knees and just cried. I don't remember moving, but soon, Mia was in my arms and I was hugging her so tight, telling her that I love her. I saw in Mel's yes that she got me. I LOVE Mel! Apparently, instead of taking of down the block like I thought, Mia went around the band and started dancing. That's how Mel found her. Grooving to a hillbilly beat without a care in the world. Life goes on.

Mia at the tip bucket seconds before I lost her

Time for mango ice at Jim Jim's stand and then off to the fountain to cool of. Andrea, Sophia and Domi met us out there, too. I snapped a lovely shot of Domi blowing bubbles into his hibiscus tea :) Greyson was all into the water. Sophia sat next to her mamacita and Mia sat on the bench and experienced her first brain freeze seconds after Mel called hers. That's the only way I would have know what made Mia go from loving life to freakin' out in 2 seconds.

Oh, Mia and I walked to the market together from Book People. She go a ride in her stroller on the way back. We made it there just in time for a puppet show! Mia's first puppet show! It was based on the book Is your Mama a LLama, and it ROCKED! I busted out laughing several times. Mia was so into it, too. She got all excited, pointed, called out the animals and had a hard time sitting..so she stood.

in my face

Ben's M&C from Waterloo on 360 & 2222

my buddy, Ben, ordered some mac & cheese today for lunch. he sat right next to me taunting me with the cheesy pasta goodness. ok. Ben is 3 years old and doesn't have a clue what gluten is much less that i'm not eating it anymore. it was still a huge tease....don't get me started on the wrongness displayed by 9 month old Sam going to town on a yummy piece of WHITE bread while on my LAP!

corn starch + water = goop

Goop is an outdoor kinda thang. Mia had so much fun making it, playing with it and rinsing it off! Niles really liked the rinsing off part, too. He 'attacks' the water! All the while, I sat back, watched & read my book :)

clean up. clean up. everybody clean up!

sweetie looking for Daisy...the dog next door

Mia teases Niles with the water hose...he LOVES it!
