Yesterday, Mia and I met Dee and Tom for lunch to visit a bit and make the snapper swap. It was the sweetest thing watching Mia hand in hand with her super tall Paw Paw going off in search of a cookie. I went over all the changes...no more milk to bed, one sippy of juice a day, the rest water, Motrin dosage for her last painful tooth.... Then we got Mia all set up in her other car seat, and we all gave our hugs and kisses...and they were off :) It really means a lot to Daryl and I that Mia spends time with her Nana, Paw Paw, Memaw and Ita without us. They'll make their own precious memories. I had the rest of the day to myself to work and get ready for the Goodwin/GCS Christmas Party.
Here's a note from the Nana:

We had so much fun this afternoon. Mia drove her shopping cart all around HEB like a mad woman!! She loved the exciting trip to the grocery store. Especially since Paw Paw always says YES!
We got home and immediately headed to the swing for some recreation. Then, on to the pond for a frog watchin'. I swear, one of the frogs was three times the size of all the others. I think we have a bullfrog after all! By then, she was REALLY dirty, and quite proud of it. We swang on the porch swing and PawPaw joined us. What a treat! We picked up a Little Bear CD at HEB, and of course, Mia thought that was the coolest. We watched it twice!
When Tom fed MeMaw her dinner (she always likes to eat early), Mia was thrilled. Mia saw that MeMaw got a half cookie, and we had to tell her "No Begging" just like we have to tell Bug and Bubba! Mia (and we) thought it was the funniest thing ever. But of course, MeMaw shared with Mia, and all was well in the Gleinser household.
Since we taught Mia to say Uh Oh Spaghettios (Here I am to say that Mia's Ita says 'uh oh spaghetti-os' the way Paw Paw says 'yes' and Nana says 'Wo Who!'...just thought I'd mention it, because I know Mia's Ita reads the blog :), we decided that some pasta and meat sauce was a good bet for dinner. She ate about 3 lbs of food when you count the bean beans, and then took a long, warm bubble bath (no worries - it was the Aveeno baby soap that made the bubbles, not bubble bath). Off to flash her PawPaw with her naky butt (she loved his reaction) and then time for some warm jammies.
I made PawPaw do the snot cleanout thing, but helped him. Oh my god!! We've never seen so much snot blow out of one little nose ever!! PawPaw is going to buy one of those sets for himself! And MeMaw. Maybe we can blow her snort out through her nose!! If not, we'll sure have fun trying!
After the boogie cleaning, we had to change Mia. And wash a load of towels (told you there was a load of snot in there). Mia has been contentedly helping her PawPaw put MeMaw to bed and snuggling with us. I think she'll be asleep pretty darn soon. And we'll be one sad set of grandparents to have to let go of this delightful day (well...,except for the snot thing. I think I'm gonna have nightmares)..
Love you!! Hope you had a wonderful time at the party!!

OK, two hearts have melted. Mia sat in PawPaws lap and watched a fascinating show about plane crashes. I sat next to them. She said No to nite nite and milk, but about 10 minutes later, she moved over and laid across both of our laps and grabbed her puppy. We brushed teeth, and she fell asleep with her toothbrush and puppy in hand. I don't think we'll ever recover. Our hearts are permanently a puddle of goo.

Nana, Thanks so very much for sending us those wonderful emails. It's like we were there :) We love you and appreciate all that you do.
Ok, the party was so much fun! It was nice to see everyone all dressed up. The trio played very well, the food was yummy, and we had the best bartender. I wasn't sure what I wanted and ended up asking for cranberry juice, vodka and sweet n sour...it turned out sweet and tasty. Since the drink didn't have an official drink, we all called it the Girly Drink. Nik didn't have a problem walking up and asking for it by name :)
Well, we all left once they were shutting the place down, and hopped over to the Ginger Man. We played darts, drank beer & chatted. It was Daryl & I, Krista & Shane, Loren & Gary, Troy & Kelly, and Guy brought his gal along, too. She's Loren's mom, but for the life of me, I just can't remember her name! I hate that! Anyway, we ended up closing that bar down, too!Today, we slept in late, went out for migas & chilaquiles, then to the store, then we picked up our Christmas tree! It's up and half lit right now...I'm taking a break :) Daryl and I are staying in tonight to get the house done so it'll be ready when we bring Mia home tomorrow. We can't wait!!!
We didn't get any pictures from the actual Christmas party, but here are some from later on.
