Terra Luz a Progressive Preschool ~ nourishing the whole child

As I'm sure many of you know, we're so honored that Mia has been able to attend school at Casa T (just search for Casa T on my blog for all the posts)...run by my very lovely and loving friend, Andrea. Well, Andrea is now spreading her wings and transitioning from in home child care to a larger off site school (soon). I can't express how proud of her and her work. She's following her heart and making her dreams come true.

She's moving from Casa T to Terra Luz a progressive preschool and you really need to read all about it.....
HERE

I know a picture is worth a thousand words, so let these of Mia at Casa T show what kind of unique school Terra Luz will be: (ALL shots taken by Andrea)

p.s. if you want to join Mia in the fun, Terra Luz currently has a waitlist you can sign up for ;)

Mia's Mama is M.I.A.

We're pretty much 10 weeks into this beautiful pregnancy and I'm feeling soooo much better. I honestly haven't taken many shots, we haven't really been many places, and being on the PC too long makes me even more nauseous. For those who've missed Mia, here are some shots taken at Casa T by Ms. Andrea. Mia has the MOST fun there. They do all sorts of art stuff, cook and bake, go on nature walks, sing and dance, learn a bit of Spanish, even practice yoga and SOOOooooo much more :)

Casa T - week 3

Ahhh another fun day at Casa T! Yesterday, Mia hung with her friends and Ms. Andrea :) They went on a nature walk (notice the hand holding shot below...Ms. Andrea is strict about the buddy system) and gathered somethings for their nature book that I keep hearing so much about. They ate some nuts that they toasted and even made their own nut butter! Mia loves helping out at home...she takes her plate and stuff to the sink, throws her yucky diapers away, cleans up after herself...so folding and putting away the napkins at Casa T is right up her alley! Andrea has even created a little song that Mia kind of knows by heart.

Corner to corner
Smooth it out
Then fold it over
Smooth it out
This is the way we fold

Mia's already helping with sorting the laundry...I'm sure she'd love to help fold towels :) Also, Mia started wearing her unders at school. Dry for an hour. This past week, Mia's been singing La Araña Pequeñita (The Isty Bitsy Spider)

La araña pequeñita subió, subió, subió,
Vino la lluvia y se la llevó.
Salió el sol y todo lo secó.
Y la araña pequeñita subió, subió, subió.

I LOVE this shot of Sophia tasting the nut butter

Casa T...the fun continues

It's Wednesday, so Mia was at Casa T today! Her first day was last week, but today she spent the whole day there...napped and everything...for 2 hours!!!!! I love how Andrea blogs about Mia's day there. I can be a fly on the wall. I've noticed I truly enjoy watching Mia with her her teachers. Ms. Andrea, Miss Jennifer (Mia started swim classes at Emler again yesterday. Yes, she's still a fish...Bonus: we saw Anika fish and Mama Anja there, too! and Anja's super smart cousin who just earned her masters of law at Harvard!!!!), and Ms. Misty her nastics coach. Mia is her own person, and I love that. If you'd like to read about how I spent my day hop over to my blog all about me :)

all of the following shots were taken by Andrea

Mia loves puzzles ( i love how she's holding the one in her left hand)

I think she was making a little doll...she's entranced...it's a very good thing

ahhhh Mia the girl who's in charge of the napkins

(i heart the little specks of green paint on her L thumb)
Lovely Sophia pushing Mia on the swing....I'd know those lil piggies anywhere!
girls digging the sandbox...I heard it's Mia's fave place to hang
