Happy Birthday Liam

One of the sweetest little boys in the world recently turned two years old, and we were lucky to celebrate him with his lovely family and friends. It was a cold and dreary day, but that didn't stop anyone from riding their wheels, singing songs and playing parachute games, of course eating cupcakes....we all had a blast!

more of my shots here and Bonnie's blog here :)

this fabulous shot of me stuffing a whole cupcake in my mouth was taken by my dear husband, Daryl

i sleep

the best thing since sliced bread? ear plugs!

after complaining about my lack of sleep due to d's snoring, Bonnie mentioned ear plugs. ohhhhh ear plugs! i actually had a whole container. i tried them out the night d got home from working out of town, and i slept like a baby...a happy and content baby. all i could hear was my deep breathing...a little like scuba diving. compared to the sometimes out of the blue scary loud snores, listening to my own breathing was quite a comfort.

when mia needs my attention during the night, he just gives me a sweet nudge and i wake from my deep peaceful sleep, tend to her and once my plugs are back in, i'm asleep within minutes.

the BEST thing about this is that d doesn't have to sleep in the guest room, or when we have company...on the sofa. a good night sleep and i get to snuggle with my honey. i can't ask for more than that!

Waterloo...I think I love you

Sunday found us once again at Waterloo. Same yummy food, same fabulous friends...besides being a little chilly, it was damn near perfect. Daryl and Josh supplied many quarters to the tots so they could play pinball, Ms. Pacman and some driving game...Ben is actually super at! After breakfast, Mia joined Josh and Ben in her first official game of hide n go seek. She likes to be the one who counts to ten....a kid who doesn't mind being 'it'...I imagine she'll be popular in school :)

Bonnie and I took advantage of the overcast day and pretty much stalked the kids with our cameras...I know, I know...what's new? If you're wondering were Daryl is in all these shots...well, he likes to duck out of the frame..a LOT!

how the magic happens...check this out

Happy Birthday Sam!!!!

A couple of days ago Sam turned ONE! Sam is one of Bonnie's (that's Sammy with the purple hat on her site) boys, and he's just a fabulous kid. Totally easy going and happy as a clam. He's one that could make even the sourest sourpuss smile. Ben fixed his own plate of jalapenos, pickles, lemons and onions! Sam ate up his slice of birthday cake with a fork. He looked directly at Josh and said 'Dada' for the first time. Sweet Anja filmed the whole celebration. Mia got hooked on photography. There was so much fun had by all. I posted a couple of shots yesterday, and here are some more of my fave shots of the sweetest little boy (not a baby any more) ever with his family and friends.

Bonnie's Guys

I always look forward to hanging with my lovely friend, Bonnie. When our families get together there's always this laid back vibe that makes for a nice time.

These are Bonnie's guys: Josh, Sammy and Ben (well, his feet on Sam's new ball). They were all watching Bonnie taking a portrait of another fabulous family, the Simon's. Taking amazing shots is one of Bonnie's forte's. I'm sure they guys have watched her take thousands upon thousands of photos, but they are still so captivated by what she does...that and the Simon's were making silly faces at the camera :)

I picked this shot for my best shot because I just dig the easy feel of it.

Here's another shot I had to add....an impromptu family portrait I took of them. Talk about the tables being turned!
