Melanie, Tim & Greyson invited all the O'Mamas to help celebrate on Saturday afternoon. It was a perfect day, a great park, and just a wonderful time.

we've got a spotter

since tuesday, i've had really light spotting...the brown kind (old blood). no big deal, but it's been a few days. We've even laid off the sex (the penetrating kind) to see if it was that. it didn't make a difference.


this morning, for some reason, i got a little more nervous. then came the pain. we called the doc on call and he said that it could be something or could be nothing. he went on to say that i may be having a miscarriage, or possibly not. if something happens, go to the ER, if not, keep my appt with my reg dr that i have on thursday. ya know, what else could he say? he told me to relax and not do anything strenuous. now that's some advice i can follow.


more pain. then i made it to the bathroom. had the most wicked crap, ever! and now i'm fine.


mia and i went to the store, and she got some new sneakers. really, it's ok :)

Flippin' Flippers

Some friends (and strangers) have asked if I have any cravings or food aversions.

Boo loves:
blueberry pancakes
2 tacos for $1 from Jack in the Box

ice cream sandwiches (only right before bed)

Boo does NOT love:

Last night, while cooking up some of Boo's fav blueberry pancakes, Mia hopped up on her stool at the other end of the counter wanting to 'flip, flip, flip!' some pancakes. I told her that she couldn't, it was hot, danger, it would hurt her.... but she's two, and wanted to flip, flip, flip! All I wanted were some pancakes :)
Then Daryl came in, and I thought he would pick her up (with her legs kicking), take her to the other room and try to distract her...this rarely works once she has her heart deeply set on something. But, no, Daryl didn't do that. He sweetly reached around me (I got a kiss, too) found another spatula, took an already prepared pancake (I usually double if not triple the recipe and make a million, so I'll have some when the next craving hits), went over to Mia, gave her both the spatula and pancake and told her to 'FLIP!' Mia was THRILLED! I was amazed, and there he was, Super Dada, teaching his daughter how to flip pancakes :) It kept her busy for at least half and hour. There we all were in the kitchen, a happy family making blueberry pancakes for Boo.

since being pregnant, i've kind of withdrawn myself from a few things. i'm not as talkative and outgoing as i usually am and like to be. the word is EXHAUSTION.

i'm ok in the morning, but by afternoon (when my morning sickness kicks in) i'm worthless. so, i tend to stay in my cave and just get through it.

i'm so thankful for my fabulous friends and playgroups. they keep me going. Daryl has been super sweet and attentive. he usually is, but he's so there for me....no judgments, no demands.

one other thing. Mia. i just look at her and my heart aches. she's blossoming into such an amazingly sensitive and bright child. i'm interested in meeting the child that's been sucking all the energy out of me. Daryl and i have a pretty good baby making recipe :) now all i need is a nap

Jump Around!

We left Mel's almost 2 hours ago and I still have House of Pain's Jump Around in my head :)

O'Mama Melanie & her super awesome Grayson hosted a Dance Party playdate. Mel, following Andrea H's advice :), invited 10 people thinking that about 2 would drop out at the last minute. Nope! We all wanted to hang with Mel & Grayson....we don't get to very often since Mel's a super cool school librarian and thinks that going to work is more important than hanging with cool O'Mamas.

The house was full of kiddos and Mamas ready to have fun...and fun is what we had, in spades. Mel put on a few dance songs every now and then to get things going. The kids loved spinning and dancing. Then for her grande finale, she pulled out Sandra Boynton's Barnyard Dance (one of our favs) That brought the house down. All the kids, and most mamas were acting out the twirls, hops and Cole & Mia held hands to promenade, but they just stood there looking all cute and stuff.

Grayson has some choice toys. All the trucks, blocks and the wooden sandwich making set were hits, but hands down the best of all was the Rody donkey. It was the best and all the kids just loved it. I may be on the way to Toy Joy for one, too :)
Mia played blocks with Christen and Aidan. Then Andrea and MIa got into the scarves...Austin, too.

We can't wait for Summer vacation, so we can hang with Mel & Grayson more often!
